About This Service

Whether you're replacing a tired old suite or starting from scratch, Simon manages the entire project from start to finish. That means stripping out the old bathroom, rerouting plumbing as needed, fitting the new suite, tiling, and finishing to a high standard. No large teams of strangers, no handoffs. Just experienced, accountable work done properly.

What's Included

  • Full strip-out of existing bathroom
  • Plumbing and drainage work
  • Bath, basin and WC installation
  • Wall and floor tiling
  • Shower fitting (if included in suite)
  • Final sealant and finishing

How the Process Works

Every bathroom installation starts with a site visit. Simon comes to your home, takes measurements, discusses what you want to achieve, and gives you a clear, itemised quote. There are no hidden costs: the price quoted is the price you pay.

Once you are ready to proceed, Simon arranges a start date that suits you. On the first day, the existing bathroom is stripped out, waste is removed, and the space is assessed properly. This is when any surprises - such as subfloor problems or plumbing buried in walls - are found and dealt with before the new installation begins.

First fix plumbing follows: repositioning or extending the waste runs, moving supply pipes, and ensuring the drainage layout suits the new design. Simon does this work himself, which means any complications are handled on the spot rather than waiting for a second contractor.

Tiling comes next, once the substrate is properly prepared. Simon sets out tiles carefully to avoid awkward cuts in visible areas, and works to consistent grout lines throughout. Once tiling is complete, second fix plumbing connects everything up: bath, basin, WC, shower valve and head. The final stage is sealant and finishing, leaving a bathroom that is clean, tight and ready to use.

What to Expect on Site

Simon works on one project at a time, which means your job gets his full attention from start to finish. He arrives when he says he will, keeps the work area as tidy as possible throughout, and cleans up properly at the end of each day.

A standard bathroom refit typically takes five to eight working days, depending on the size of the room and whether any structural or plumbing complications arise. Simon will give you a realistic timeline at the quoting stage and will let you know if anything changes during the job before doing any additional work.

You will be kept informed throughout. If Simon finds a problem - a damaged subfloor, outdated pipework, a wall that needs replastering - he will explain what he has found, what the options are, and what it means for the cost and timeline before proceeding.

Common Questions

Do I need to supply the suite and tiles, or can Simon arrange that?

Either works. Many customers source their own suite and tiles, and Simon will fit whatever you have chosen. He can also help with recommendations, particularly for tiles where the substrate preparation affects which products are most suitable.

Can I use the bathroom during the installation?

For most of the project, no. During a full bathroom refit the room is out of use from strip-out to completion. If you have a second bathroom this is straightforward to plan around. If not, Simon will discuss the timeline with you upfront so you can make arrangements.

Does Simon offer supply and fit, or fitting only?

Both. Simon can work with a suite and tiles you have already bought, or he can supply fixtures as part of the job. Prices are quoted either way, so you can compare and choose what works best for you.

What guarantee comes with the work?

Simon stands behind his work. If anything related to the installation needs attention after completion, contact him directly. Because he does not use subcontractors, there is never any question about who to call.

Is there a waiting list?

Simon typically has a waiting list of a few weeks, depending on the time of year. It is worth getting in touch early to discuss your project and secure a start date that works around you.

Borrowash

We've had bad experiences with builders in the past so we were nervous, but Simon put us at ease straight away. The en-suite he fitted is beautiful. Exactly what we wanted. Couldn't be happier.
